One aspect of maritime history that the site will reflect is the transcript of the Dockyard Warrant Book for Her Majesty’s Dockyard at Hamoaze for 1709. The contract for the Dockyard was signed in December 1690. Buildings from 1790 have survived to the present.

It is the office copy of all the orders  to supply materials, for the purchase of supplies and  the appointment of men to positions in the dockyard in Devonport and elsewhere.  The Dockyard even today employs men from Devon and Cornwall and Cornwall has always supplied materials and supplies to the Dockyard..
